HO CHI MINH CITY – In one of the most data-driven and critical presentations at the Vietnam-ASEAN Hydrogen Human Resources Workshop 2025, Ms. Heejeong Kim, Senior Manager at UNIHYS Co., Ltd. of Korea, delivered a compelling analysis of hydrogen safety, drawing from half a decade of incident data in Korea and proposing concrete solutions for Vietnam's nascent hydrogen industry.

HO CHI MINH CITY – In a decisive move to address one of the most critical barriers to Vietnam's green energy ambitions, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE) has unveiled a comprehensive roadmap to become the leading training center for the hydrogen industry in Southern Vietnam. The announcement was made by Dr. Tran Thanh Tam, Vice Head of the Scientific Research Department, during the recent Vietnam-ASEAN Hydrogen Human Resources Workshop 2025.

In an intimate setting of 35 delegates at the Saigon Hotel—bringing together academics, industry leaders, and financial institutions from several countries—the keynote by Dr. Duong Mien Ka (Vice Chairman of IKONOMY and lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry) left a distinct impression. With a clear, practical, and inspiring presentation style, he guided the audience into exploring one defining question: “Where must Vietnam begin to enter the hydrogen era?”

At the Vietnam–ASEAN Hydrogen Human Resources Workshop on 28 November 2025—co-organized by the Vietnam–ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC), Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE), Pacific Group, and TPBank—TPBank delivered a keynote presentation introducing its green finance and ESG solutions.

Amid the intensifying global clean energy race, the International Workshop “Vietnam – ASEAN Hydrogen Human Resources 2025” took place on 28 November 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, serving as a strong statement of Vietnam’s determination to catch up with global trends. The event, co-organized by the Vietnam–ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC), Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE), Pacific Group, and TPBank, was not merely a workshop but a “historic appointment” of four pillars—Academia, Industry, Finance, Policy—working together to address the biggest bottleneck: the high-quality human resources challenge.

At the thematic discussion session organized by the Vietnam–ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC), the topic “Vietnam – One of ASEAN’s Three Emerging Hydrogen Stars and Pathways to Real-World Project Collaboration” was placed in a particularly important context. The Global Hydrogen Review 2025 report by the International Energy Agency (IEA), recently published, for the first time dedicates an entire chapter to assessing hydrogen potential in ASEAN, in which Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia are identified as the three “emerging stars” with the ability to shape the region’s hydrogen market in the coming decade.

Ho Chi Minh City, November 27, 2025 – As Vietnam continues to grapple with grid infrastructure constraints that hinder renewable-energy development, Japan’s leading construction and energy group Obayashi Corporation has introduced a breakthrough solution: building an independent green-hydrogen supply chain that converts surplus renewable electricity into clean fuel delivered directly to industrial users.

Abu Dhabi, UAE / Vietnam, November 10, 2025 — The Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) and Hydrogen Exchange Group (HX Group) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to accelerate hydrogen and clean fuel commercialization across Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

November 19, 2025 – In the context of the International Energy Agency (IEA) dedicating, for the first time, an entire chapter to Southeast Asia in its Global Hydrogen Review 2025, the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) and the Vietnam–ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) will co-host the international conference “Vietnam and ASEAN’s Hydrogen Pathways in the Global Landscape” on December 5, 2025.

When Decision 165/QD-TTg was issued in early 2024, hydrogen (H2) officially became a key component of Vietnam’s national energy roadmap. This marked a milestone in the country’s pursuit of clean energy and opened a new pathway for green industrialization. As the global energy landscape undergoes a profound transformation towards sustainability, PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) is positioning itself at the forefront of Vietnam’s clean energy revolution, with green hydrogen as a strategic pillar for the future.
