GHIAA Announces Outcomes of the 8th General Meeting
Seoul, South Korea – December 5, 2025 – The Global Hydrogen Industrial Association Alliance (GHIAA) successfully held its 8th General Meeting alongside the World Hydrogen EXPO / H2 MEET 2025. The GHIAA Secretariat has circulated the official signed Resolution, documenting all decisions adopted during this important session.

1. Admission of New Members
During the meeting, members unanimously approved the admission of five new hydrogen associations, significantly expanding GHIAA’s global network. The newly admitted organizations are:
-
GH2 India – the national hydrogen association of India, promoting domestic and international hydrogen development.
-
H2 Perú, Asociación Peruana de Hidrógeno – representing the hydrogen sector in Peru.
-
Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) – representing the hydrogen community in Vietnam and ASEAN.
-
Malaysia Hydrogen Association – the national hydrogen association of Malaysia.
-
South Africa Hydrogen Association – representing the hydrogen industry in South Africa.
The addition of members from Vietnam, India, Peru, Malaysia, and South Africa underscores the growing importance of emerging markets in the global hydrogen ecosystem.
2. Venue for the 9th General Meeting
Members selected Spain as the host country for the 9th GHIAA General Meeting, to be held in conjunction with EHEC Seville 2026. This choice aims to provide a larger platform for international collaboration and networking among hydrogen associations.
3. Extension of the “Find Your Hydrogen Partners” Initiative
GHIAA’s “Find Your Hydrogen Partners” initiative – a global platform connecting hydrogen stakeholders – faced some practical challenges in data collection and participation. Nevertheless, members confirmed that the initiative remains highly relevant.
The program will be extended through the end of 2026, with the Secretariat tasked to collect member feedback and propose improvements, which will be presented at the 9th General Meeting.
4. Engagement with International Organizations
Members agreed on the need for GHIAA to engage more actively with international organizations. However, no consensus was reached on the specific roles or participation model.
The Secretariat will contact relevant international organizations to express GHIAA’s readiness to offer support, and will report any responses at the next General Meeting. Member associations that proposed this agenda item are requested to develop a detailed proposal reflecting the discussions and member feedback for submission to the 9th General Meeting.
5. Participation in Hyvolution Paris 2026
Members concluded that holding an official General Meeting at Hyvolution Paris 2026 would not be practical. Alternative participation, such as presentations or panel involvement, will be explored. The possibility of hosting the General Meeting at Hyvolution Paris 2027 will be considered through a separate formal request.
6. Strengthening Linkages with Global Policy Events
Members emphasized the importance of GHIAA actively participating in major global policy events, to promote the hydrogen community’s voice in energy and climate policy.
Further clarification is required regarding GHIAA’s specific roles and participation modalities at these events. Members proposing this agenda item are asked to refine and specify potential formats for consideration at the 9th General Meeting.
Conclusion
The 8th GHIAA General Meeting marked a significant step in expanding international collaboration in the hydrogen sector. The official Resolution confirmed key decisions on new member admissions, the venue for the next General Meeting, ongoing partnership initiatives, and international engagement, demonstrating GHIAA’s commitment to fostering a sustainable and globally connected hydrogen market.
