Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club Seeks Partners for Natural Hydrogen Exploration and Development Projects in Vietnam and ASEAN

The Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) announces its call for partners to cooperate in the exploration and development of natural hydrogen projects in Vietnam and across the ASEAN region.
VAHC is currently working with and has established a partnership relationship with Europe’s leading natural hydrogen investment fund, widely recognized as the number one investor in the natural hydrogen sector in Europe. The fund has expressed strong interest and readiness to consider investments in natural hydrogen exploration and production projects in Vietnam and ASEAN, as natural hydrogen emerges globally as a promising low-carbon energy source with significant cost advantages. In ASEAN region, Indonesia found natural hydrogen reserve recently and the Philippines started bidding on exploring natural hydrogen by middle of 2025.
A key condition for investment participation by the European partner is that projects must fully comply with the legal and regulatory frameworks of the host country. Specifically, eligible projects must:

Have been granted an official exploration license for natural hydrogen by the government or competent authority of the host country; or

Be structured as a joint venture or partnership capable of jointly applying for exploration and production licenses in accordance with the laws and regulations of the host country.
According to VAHC, this partner-matching initiative aims to accelerate geological surveys, exploration activities, and early-stage development of natural hydrogen projects in Vietnam and the ASEAN region, while laying the foundation for a new regional hydrogen value chain aligned with international energy transition trends. Several countries have already incorporated natural hydrogen into their national hydrogen strategies, highlighting its growing strategic importance.
The Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club welcomes engagement from companies, local authorities, geological asset holders, project developers, and investors interested in proposing or co-developing natural hydrogen projects.
