As the world accelerates toward net-zero emissions by 2050, new clean technologies like Low Carbon Hydrogen and Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) are seen as critical solutions. However, deploying these technologies at scale faces deep financial, regulatory, and capability-related barriers.

Vietnam has outlined an ambitious path toward a net-zero future by 2050, driven by the integration of solar, wind, and green hydrogen energy. Under its National Climate Change Strategy, the government aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 43.5% by 2030 (compared to business-as-usual levels) and achieve net-zero by 2050.

On May 14, 2025, the Taiwan Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Partnership (THFCP) and the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony to formalize their collaboration in advancing hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. On April 16 2025, VAHC and the organizer of Offshore Technology Conference Asia 2026 (OTC Asia 2026) agreed that VAHC would be the supporting partner of OTC Asia 2026 which will be held in Kuala Lumpur from March 31 to April 1 2026.

On April 17, 2025, VAHC Club signed a second-year partnership agreement with the organizer of Asian Downstream Summit 2025.
