VAHC activities

At the Vietnam Hydrogen Legal and Regulatory Forum 2026 organized by the ASEAN Vietnam Hydrogen Club (VAHC), Dr. Cao Thúy Oanh, Head of Research & Development Group of VAHC, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the legal framework for hydrogen. Her presentation focused on three objectives: (1) clarifying what hydrogen is and how it is used; (2) analyzing the layers of laws and standards governing hydrogen in Vietnam and internationally; and (3) comparing Vietnam's hydrogen strategy with major country groups and proposing a practical roadmap.

As part of the Vietnam Hydrogen Legal and Regulatory Forum 2026 organized by the ASEAN Vietnam Hydrogen Club (VAHC), Ms. Phuong Ho – representing UNPHC – delivered an in-depth presentation on the legal status of the hydrogen therapy industry in Japan and proposals for Vietnam.

Mr. Ianton Tan, Regional Director for Asia Pacific (APAC) of United Hydrogen Group, presented a keynote on China's hydrogen development strategy and policy suggestions for Vietnam at the Vietnam Hydrogen Legal and Regulatory Forum 2026. The presentation focused on lessons from geopolitical crises, China's development model, rethinking safety standards, demand‑side policies, standard localization, and prioritizing chemical carriers.

As part of the Vietnam Hydrogen Legal and Regulatory Forum 2026 organized by the ASEAN Vietnam Hydrogen Club (VAHC) , Mr. Lê Ngọc Ánh Minh – Chairman of VAHC – delivered an important opening speech, followed by in-depth presentations from international experts. One of the most notable presentations came from UNIHYS, titled: "Customized Hydrogen Approach: South Korea & Vietnam – from Technology to Law" by Dr. Kim Hee Jung.

At the Vietnam Hydrogen Legal and Regulatory Forum 2026 organized by the ASEAN Vietnam Hydrogen Club (VAHC), Dr. Cao Thúy Oanh delivered a critical presentation based on a survey of 930 enterprises across 14 provinces/cities and an in-depth analysis of policy gaps. She made a candid assessment: "Hydrogen does not lack a strategy – Vietnam lacks an implementation plan with addresses, deadlines, and responsible persons."

Singapore – The organisers of the Asian Downstream Summit 2026 have issued a call for abstracts and opened nominations for the annual Awards for the refining, petrochemicals and energy industry. The event will be held from 28 – 29 October 2026 at Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Singapore.

Hydrogen is both a strategic opportunity for Vietnam to achieve its net‑zero emissions target by 2050 and a test of the country's capacity for inter‑ministerial policy coordination and its ability to translate strategy into concrete investment projects. If the issues of legal framework and technical standards are not resolved decisively at this stage, the competitive advantage in hydrogen will be lost on the domestic market itself.

Enlit Asia 2026 has officially opened registration for its 2026 edition, bringing together the ASEAN power and energy community in Jakarta, Indonesia from 22–24 September 2026.

The “Building Sustainable Vietnam – Accelerating the Clean Energy Transition” event, organized by the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), will take place in Ho Chi Minh City on June 15, 2026, aiming to strengthen cooperation and investment in Vietnam’s sustainable energy sector.

At the workshop “Mechanisms, Policies, and Technical Requirements in the Hydrogen Energy Industry in Vietnam” organized by the Department of Coal and Oil and Gas – Ministry of Industry and Trade on May 8, 2026, the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) offered numerous suggestions related to standards, policies, and market development orientations for hydrogen in Vietnam.

The CFA Viet Nam programme would like to share a global funding opportunity for clean energy innovation projects announced by the British Embassy in Hanoi under the Accelerate-to-Demonstrate (A2D) Facility, implemented by UNIDO.

This is the third global call for proposals under the A2D Facility, part of the UK Ayrton Fund commitment to support clean energy Research, Development and Demonstration (RD&D) in ODA-eligible countries. The programme is funded by the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) with a total budget of £110 million.

Leadership of the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) has officially received an invitation to attend HYDROGEN DIALOGUE 2026 in Munich, Germany, as a high-level guest, keynote speaker, and international podcast guest.

The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association of Singapore (HFCAS) will host the Singapore Hydrogen Industry Symposium 2026 on 22 June 2026 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre.

The Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) will participate in the International Conference on Business and Economic Management (ICBEM 2026), hosted by Chihlee University of Technology, Taiwan, in Session 18: Others / Education / Social (II), scheduled for 26 May 2026 from 14:00 to 16:00 (Discussion Room: E11).

The Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) has officially announced its partnership with the 18th Solar PV & Energy Storage World Expo – PV Guangzhou 2026, one of Asia’s largest clean energy events.

The exhibition will take place from September 16 to 18, 2026 at Area B, Canton Fair Complex in Guangzhou, China. The event is expected to span 180,000 sqm, featuring over 2,000 exhibitors and attracting more than 250,000 global visitors.
