On March 31, 2026, the "Hydrogen Horizons: Advancing Vietnam-France Energy Collaboration" event took place at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) , a member of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST). The event marked a major milestone in realizing the strategic partnership between Vietnam and France in the field of renewable energy, specifically green hydrogen – an energy source expected to reshape the global energy landscape.

In implementing the strategy for green energy development and realizing national commitments on energy transition, the National Committee for Standards, Metrology and Quality (under the Ministry of Science and Technology) is proceeding with the establishment of the National Technical Committee TCVN/TC 197 – Hydrogen Technology. The National Committee for Standards, Metrology and Quality under the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam has issued Invitation Letter No. 706/TĐC-TC dated March 11, 2026 to the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club regarding the invitation to participate in the National Technical Committee TCVN/TC 197 – Hydrogen Technology.

The Clean Buses in APAC 2026 conference held this week in Bangkok highlights a critical transition in Asia-Pacific’s clean transport sector—from ambition to real-world implementation. Bringing together policymakers, transport operators, technology providers, and energy stakeholders, the event explored both battery-electric and hydrogen-powered buses as cities across the region seek practical pathways to decarbonize public transport. A key highlight was the participation of Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC), represented by Ivan Lim, who spoke and moderated discussions on bus electrification and hydrogen mobility.

As Southeast Asia faces the dual pressure of rapid economic growth and the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, regional platforms are playing an increasingly important role in fostering collaboration on policy, technology, and investment.

The Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) has expanded its international engagement by becoming an official partner of two major global energy and hydrogen events: Gastech Bangkok 2026 in Thailand and the Asia Pacific Hydrogen Conference & Exhibition 2026 in Australia.

The Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Japanese technology company Moegi Co., Ltd to promote research and development of water technology and hydrogen-related projects in Vietnam and across the ASEAN region.

Seville, Spain – On March 11, 2026, the Global Hydrogen Industry Association and Alliance (GHIAA) convened its 9th General Meeting at the Fibes II Conference and Exhibition Centre in Seville, Spain. The meeting brought together representatives from leading hydrogen associations worldwide to discuss key agendas focused on enhancing international engagement and shaping the future of the organization.

On 17 March 2026, the international Clean Buses in APAC 2026 Conference, organized by Global Mass Transit, will take place at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, bringing together policymakers, international financial institutions, technology providers and public transport experts from across the Asia-Pacific region.

At the event, Ivan Lim, representative of the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club and head of the organization’s Singapore Desk, will participate as a speaker, presenting a session on the growing role of hydrogen-powered buses in regional public transport systems.

The Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) is pleased to welcome Ivan Lim as the Representative of the Singapore Desk of the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club. Mr. Ivan Lim is a senior executive with extensive experience in corporate governance, strategic leadership, and international business development. He currently serves in an executive leadership role at Wisdom Motor Group Pte Ltd and is a Senior Accredited Director with strong expertise in board-level management, growth strategy, joint ventures, international commodities trade, and industrial transformation.

The Vietnam – France Hydrogen Workshop 2026 will be held on 31 March 2026 (08:30 – 11:30) at the Vietnam France University (USTH). The event is organized in a workshop and networking format, with approximately 50 invited participants from government, industry, finance, and academia. The workshop is co-organized by French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (CCIFV), Vietnam France University (USTH), and Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC).

Spring of Yang Fire Horse or Tết Bính Ngọ 2026 marks a new milestone in the international engagement strategy of the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) as the organization officially assumes an advisory partnership role within Global City Connect (GCC) — a global platform connecting cities, enterprises, and institutions to advance sustainable development initiatives.

On the morning of February 12, 2026, at Can Gio Ferry Terminal, CT UAV, in coordination with Vietnam Post, will officially launch a pilot delivery route between Can Gio and Vung Tau using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The flight path crosses Ganh Rai Bay with a total distance of 12.08 km, connecting Can Gio – Quoc Chanh Ferry Terminal and Bien Vung Tau – Can Gio Ferry Terminal. This marks an important milestone in the practical application of autonomous flight technology in logistics.
