Vietnamese Prime Minister attends COP-28 in Dubai Tu Phu Nguyen / Future Energy Exhibition
Hello and welcome to the work week!
As temperatures drop in the northern hemisphere, global discussion is heating up as we eagerly await the start of COP28, the key climate conference taking place this week in Dubai.
Exciting news from Vietnam as we put the final touches on our climate plan ahead of COP28.
The country is in the process of finalizing reform commitments with G7 governments and multilateral lenders, a move that could free up billions of dollars in loans to reduce coal use in the manufacturing hub. This important Southeast Asian export.
The negotiations, supervised by foreign officials, underscore Vietnam's commitment to tackling climate change on a significant scale.
COP28 is a key test of Vietnam's readiness to accelerate action and contribute to global efforts to limit the impact of climate change.
I am pleased to share that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will be at the forefront of these discussions, participating in the conference in Dubai and participating in a number of bilateral activities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
It is worth noting that Vietnam's representation at COP28 transcends government boundaries.
Businesses and the private sector, including notable entities such as the ASEAN Carbon Credit Exchange (CCTPA) and CT Group Vietnam, are actively participating in this event. (Kudos, Adam Corrall!)
As we eagerly await the outcome of this important conference, it is heartening to see leaders and organizations making significant contributions to the global dialogue on climate action. Queen.
This has been a week of exciting discussions and meaningful commitments at COP28 !
