VIETNAM–KOREA HYDROGEN WORKSHOP 2025: A MILESTONE IN THE GREEN ENERGY JOURNEY
Ho Chi Minh City, July 16, 2025 – The Vietnam–Korea Hydrogen Workshop 2025 was successfully held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE), marking a major step forward in fostering bilateral cooperation on hydrogen energy between Vietnam and South Korea. The event was co-organized by HCMUNRE, the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC), and the Korea Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Industry Association (KHFCIA), drawing the participation of numerous scientists, experts, government representatives, and business leaders from both countries.

Opening Remarks
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Quyen, Rector of HCMUNRE, emphasized the importance of the workshop in bridging knowledge and technology to advance clean and sustainable energy development.

A highlight was the presentation of a “Vietnam-made Hydrogen Welding Machine” by Mr. Nguyen Thien Binh (Founder of HB-Green), showcasing domestic innovation capabilities.
MoU Signing Ceremony – Marking Strategic Collaboration
A key highlight of the event was the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding:

VAHC & HCMUNRE: For cooperation in education, scientific research, and implementation of hydrogen pilot projects.

VAHC & KHFCIA: To establish a strategic cooperation framework, facilitate information exchange, and promote joint hydrogen initiatives.
Following the signing, a Roundtable Discussion on bilateral project collaboration was moderated by Dr. Tran Thanh Tam (HCMUNRE), during which speakers delved into actionable strategies, emphasizing the importance of high-quality human resource development and legal framework enhancement.
The workshop concluded successfully, opening up new cooperation opportunities and strengthening the Vietnam–Korea partnership in hydrogen energy. This serves as a strong foundation for both nations to contribute to global clean energy development and realize their Net-Zero 2050 commitments.
