Vietnam–France Hydrogen Workshop Proposed to Strengthen Cooperation in Manufacturing and Mobility
January 16 2026
Following previous exchanges, the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (CCIFV) are working together to move forward with the organisation of a Vietnam–France Hydrogen Workshop in Hanoi, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in hydrogen, manufacturing, and clean mobility.
Tentatively scheduled for 27 March, the workshop is designed to support the development of Vietnam’s hydrogen ecosystem in line with the National Hydrogen Energy Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, while highlighting concrete opportunities for French–Vietnamese collaboration in industrial decarbonisation, manufacturing, and transport.
Under the proposed theme “Hydrogen for Manufacturing and Mobility – Vietnam’s Hydrogen Future: Where French–Vietnamese Cooperation Creates Value,” the workshop will seek to align Vietnam’s hydrogen roadmap with French technological, industrial, and investment expertise. Key objectives include identifying priority hydrogen use cases, facilitating project-based cooperation, and connecting stakeholders from both countries.
Indicative discussion topics include the global and regional hydrogen landscape, Vietnam’s hydrogen policy framework, the French hydrogen ecosystem and industrial leadership, investment perspectives, and project development opportunities.
The event is expected to welcome 25 to 50 participants, subject to venue capacity. Possible venues in Hanoi include the CCIFV Business Center or the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH).
Potential contributors include VAHC (national roadmap, regional perspective, and project pipeline), USTH (research and innovation insights), and French hydrogen and energy companies such as Air Liquide and HDF Energy, providing industrial solutions and case studies.
Through this joint initiative, VAHC and CCIFV aim to establish a strong foundation for long-term Vietnam–France cooperation in hydrogen, contributing to sustainable energy transition and industrial decarbonisation in Vietnam.
