Vietnam – France Hydrogen Workshop 2026
Connecting Hydrogen Ecosystems for Practical Cooperation
February 26, 2026

The Vietnam – France Hydrogen Workshop 2026 will be held on 31 March 2026 (08:30 – 11:30) at the Vietnam France University (USTH). The event is organized in a workshop and networking format, with approximately 50 invited participants from government, industry, finance, and academia.
The workshop is co-organized by French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (CCIFV), Vietnam France University (USTH), and Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC).
Background and Objectives
As Vietnam advances its commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, hydrogen has emerged as a strategic solution for decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors, including heavy industry, transport, and power generation. The implementation of Power Development Plan VIII (PDP8) and the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) further reinforces hydrogen’s role in the national energy transition strategy.
France, supported by its National Hydrogen Strategy and strong industrial base, is recognized as a global leader across the hydrogen value chain—from electrolysis technologies and large-scale industrial gas solutions to mobility and grid integration.
This workshop aims to:
-
Provide an updated overview of the global and Vietnamese hydrogen landscape
-
Introduce France’s hydrogen ecosystem and industrial applications
-
Clarify legal and regulatory considerations for project development in Vietnam
-
Facilitate direct dialogue between Vietnamese and French stakeholders
-
Identify practical next steps for bilateral cooperation
