We would like to inform you that Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC, website at: www.vahc.com.vn ) is cooperating with PV Gas (website: https://www.pvgas.com.vn/en-us/) and Pure Hydrogen (website: https://purehydrogen.com.au/) to hold the Vietnam Australia Hydrogen Workshop – H2 Mobility & Decentralised System with the main topic of Hydrogen for Mobility and Decentralised System in Ho Chi Minh City on 9 December 2024, from 8:30 to 14:30 in PV Gas Headquarter, PV Gas Tower, No. 673 Nguyen Huu Tho Street, Phuoc Kien Commune, Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Consul General of Australia in Ho Chi Minh City and Austrade Vietnam shall participate and deliver keynotes.
We invite Australian Hydrogen Council (AHC, website at: https://h2council.com.au/), Smart Energy Council (SEC, website at: https://smartenergy.org.au/) to participate online to share about Australian Hydrogen Strategy, roadmap and collaboration suggestion with Vietnam.
Introduction
Hydrogen has a key role to play in overcoming the climate crisis. An integrated view of the interdependent components of the hydrogen value chain is of central importance if this is to be successfully mastered around the world.
Decarbonizing the economy to achieve climate neutrality is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity in the coming decades. This is to be achieved by switching to renewable energies and by linking the energy, industry, building and mobility sectors. Because electricity generation from renewable energies such as wind and solar power is volatile, reliable and cost-effective storage and transportation options for large amounts of energy are needed. Decarbonization on a large scale can only succeed if these basic requirements are met. Hydrogen (H2) provides these capabilities in an almost ideal way, and it can also be used as a basic material or reaction partner in the process industry. Transport sector especially long-distance transport produce huge emission and hydrogen can play a good role in reducing emission for long and heavy transportation on road, by rail, by air and by sea. In a recent day, Vietnam Politburo determined that Vietnam will self-finance for the North-South High speed railway and we believe that hydrogen can play a major role to supply energy for this national project
Vietnam has large capacities of solar and wind energy and therefore has ideal conditions for the production of low-emission hydrogen. Vietnam has potential for exploring natural hydrogen as well. But Vietnam doesn’t have natural gas infrastructure like Europe or Japan have. In this Workshop, we will discuss about hydrogen for mobility and decentralized systems that fit to the conditions of Vietnam. The objective is to establish a series of H2 mobility and decentralized systems demonstration projects in Vietnam so that major player on H2 for transportation and supply from Australia and Vietnam and the region can see a potential market and can have inspiring momentum to collaborate together. The Workshop also aim to gain support from Australia to Vietnam for education and training on safety standard and conducts for hydrogen industry.
The purpose of the Vietnam Australia Hydrogen Workshop – H2 Mobility & Decentralised System
Introducing Vietnam Hydrogen Roadmap to 2030 and vision to 2050 approved by Vietnam Government.
Introducing Australia Hydrogen Roadmap to 2050 announced by Australia Government.
