Vietnam – ASEAN Hydrogen Human Resources Workshop 2025 Expected to Take Place in Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City, October 19, 2025 – The Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) is expected to co-organize, together with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment (HCMUNRE), the “Vietnam – ASEAN Hydrogen Human Resources Workshop 2025” on the afternoon of November 28, 2025, at HCMUNRE Headquarters, 236B Le Van Sy Street, Tan Son Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City (or an alternative venue to be announced).

The workshop will focus on strategies for building human resources for the hydrogen industry – a sector considered a new driving force in the energy transition and in achieving the net-zero emissions target.

Background and Objectives

Vietnam and several Southeast Asian countries have issued or are in the process of finalizing their National Hydrogen Strategies. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), Vietnam and the ASEAN region are emerging as “new stars” on the global hydrogen map, with strong potential in production capacity, supply chains, market readiness, and export capability to Northeast Asian countries such as Japan and Korea.

To realize the objectives outlined in Vietnam’s forthcoming Hydrogen Roadmap, the development of qualified human resources is seen as a key foundation. The workshop will serve as a platform bringing together scientists, experts, policymakers, technology providers, and academic institutions to exchange insights, share international experiences, and propose practical solutions for developing human capital for the hydrogen economy in Vietnam and ASEAN.
