Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club Becomes Advisory Partner of Global City Connect, Expands Global Cooperation Agenda
HCMC February 17, 2026

Spring of Yang Fire Horse or Tết Bính Ngọ 2026 marks a new milestone in the international engagement strategy of the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) as the organization officially assumes an advisory partnership role within Global City Connect (GCC) — a global platform connecting cities, enterprises, and institutions to advance sustainable development initiatives.
According to VAHC representatives, serving as an advisory partner reflects the Club’s commitment to contributing professional expertise in hydrogen development and energy transition, while strengthening linkages between the Vietnam–ASEAN hydrogen ecosystem and global stakeholders. As countries accelerate net-zero commitments, multilateral collaboration and practical knowledge exchange are increasingly essential.
Expanding Global Footprint in 2025
The year 2025 marked significant progress in VAHC’s international positioning:
-
VAHC became an official member of the Global Hydrogen Industrial Association Alliance (GHIAA), joining a global network of hydrogen industry associations;
-
Established strategic cooperation with the Taiwan Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Partnership (THFCP) to promote technology exchange and market development dialogue;
-
Strengthened collaboration with the Korea Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Industrial Association (KHFCIA) in areas including policy dialogue, technical standards, and industry connectivity.
These partnerships have reinforced VAHC’s role as a regional connector within ASEAN’s hydrogen landscape, while laying groundwork for future cooperation in hydrogen production, applications, infrastructure development, and commercialization.
Advisory Role at Global City Connect
Global City Connect focuses on:
-
Facilitating policy dialogue among cities and development institutions;
-
Connecting real-world projects with investors and enterprises;
-
Supporting implementation of sustainable energy and green economy initiatives.
In its advisory capacity, VAHC is expected to:
-
Share practical insights from hydrogen initiatives in Vietnam and ASEAN;
-
Provide perspectives on project development aligned with regional conditions;
-
Connect experts, businesses, and investors within the clean energy ecosystem.
VAHC representatives emphasized that this cooperation is grounded in professionalism and humility. “We aim to contribute within our capabilities while continuing to learn from international partners to further strengthen the hydrogen ecosystem in our region,” a representative stated.
Outlook for 2026: Broader International Engagement
Looking ahead to 2026, VAHC plans to expand its international cooperation into new regions, including the Middle East, Europe, and North America, while pursuing additional strategic partnerships in technology, finance, and project development.
The combination of its advisory role at Global City Connect and the strategic alliances established in 2025 positions VAHC to further support regional energy transition efforts and promote hydrogen as a key pillar of sustainable economic growth in Vietnam and across ASEAN.
