Vietnam America Hydrogen Workshop 2026: Advanced Hydrogen Technologies and the Semiconductor Supply Chain: Vietnam – ASEAN

Vietnam America Hydrogen Workshop 2026: Advanced Hydrogen Technologies and the Semiconductor Supply Chain: Vietnam – ASEAN

Ho Chi Minh City, January 27, 2026

Specialized Workshop on Advanced Hydrogen Technologies and the Semiconductor Supply Chain

The Vietnam – United States Hydrogen Workshop 2026 is organized as a boutique, specialized workshop, focusing on in-depth discussions on the interconnection between advanced hydrogen technologies and the semiconductor and high-tech industrial supply chains in Vietnam and the ASEAN region.

The workshop aims to create a selective and focused exchange platform for experts, enterprises, and organizations interested in practical and application-oriented uses of hydrogen, particularly in the context of a gradually restructuring global supply chain.

A central theme running throughout the program is:

Hydrogen is increasingly expanding its role from an energy source to a technological infrastructure component for emerging industries.

In sectors with stringent requirements for purity, operational stability, and emissions control—such as semiconductors, advanced materials, precision manufacturing, data centers, and smart manufacturing—hydrogen is being considered not only as an energy carrier, but also as a critical technical solution.

Event Details

  • Time: 08:30 – 12:00, April 10, 2026

  • Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
    (Specific venue to be announced)

Organizers

  • Vietnam – ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC)

  • In collaboration with Solberg Manufacturing Group (USA)

Technical Focus: Hydrogen Gas Filtration Solutions for Fuel Cell Systems by Solberg Manufacturing (USA)

In hydrogen fuel cell systems, the quality and cleanliness of hydrogen gas are critically important. The presence of fine particles, oil vapors, or contaminants in the gas stream can reduce system performance, shorten fuel cell stack lifespan, and increase operational risks.

Solberg Manufacturing (USA) specializes in industrial filtration and separation solutions, including applications for hydrogen gas filtration and fuel cell system protection.

In the context of hydrogen fuel cells, Solberg’s solutions are applied to:

  • Filter and purify hydrogen gas before it enters the fuel cell system

  • Remove dust, oil mist, and mechanical contaminants generated from compression, storage, or piping systems

  • Protect fuel cell stacks and sensitive components, maintaining long-term performance and operational stability

Solberg’s filters and separators do not participate in the electrochemical reaction of the fuel cell itself; however, they serve as essential supporting technical infrastructure, ensuring that hydrogen gas supplied to the system meets the conditions required for safe, reliable, and stable operation.

The Link Between Hydrogen Gas Filtration, Fuel Cells, and High-Tech Industries

Within the workshop framework, hydrogen gas filtration solutions for fuel cells are discussed in relation to:

  • Industrial, transportation, and distributed power generation applications of fuel cells

  • Requirements for gas purity and operational stability when deploying fuel cells in industrial environments

  • The integration of hydrogen gas filtration solutions into existing infrastructure at factories, industrial parks, and high-tech zones

For industries such as semiconductors, electronics manufacturing, and precision engineering, understanding and controlling gas infrastructure—including hydrogen—is a key prerequisite for scaling up fuel cell applications and low-emission technologies.

Discussion Orientation at the Workshop

Topics related to Solberg Manufacturing at the workshop focus on:

  • The role of hydrogen gas filtration in fuel cell systems

  • Practical experience in equipment protection and operational reliability enhancement

  • The feasibility of deploying hydrogen gas filtration solutions in fuel cell projects in Vietnam and ASEAN

This approach highlights that hydrogen fuel cells are not merely electrochemical technologies, but complete systems in which gas filtration and contaminant control are essential technical components to ensure efficiency, durability, and long-term reliability.

Hydrogen Supply Chain and International Cooperation Exchange

The workshop is expected to feature exchanges with enterprises, organizations, and experts from across the hydrogen value chain, including:

  • United States: hydrogen technologies, membranes, electrolysis, and system integration

  • European Union (EU): green hydrogen, ammonia, technical standards, and related financing mechanisms

  • Japan: hydrogen applications in industry, semiconductors, and materials

  • South Korea: fuel cells and deployment models in transportation and industry

  • China: equipment manufacturing and large-scale deployment

  • ASEAN: market demand, infrastructure, logistics, and industrial zones

Key discussion topics include:

  • Core components of the hydrogen supply chain, from materials, equipment, membrane technologies, and electrolysis to storage and utilization

  • Integration of hydrogen into semiconductor manufacturing, data centers, digital industries, and smart manufacturing

  • Investment, joint venture opportunities, and phased technology localization in Vietnam

Participants

The workshop is expected to welcome representatives from:

  • Semiconductor and electronics companies

  • Industrial and materials enterprises

  • Transportation, maritime, and logistics sectors

  • Machinery manufacturing, industrial equipment suppliers, and EPC contractors

  • Banks, financial institutions, and investment funds

  • Government agencies, industry associations, and research institutes

The scale and participant composition are designed to remain compact and selective, ensuring high-quality dialogue and meaningful connections among stakeholders.

Vietnam – ASEAN in the Hydrogen and High-Tech Value Chain

The workshop provides a platform to explore the role of Vietnam and ASEAN as:

  • Destinations for the adoption and integration of hydrogen technologies supporting high-tech manufacturing

  • A cooperation hub linking partners from the United States, Europe, and Asia

  • An emerging market for industrial and manufacturing-based hydrogen applications

The Vietnam – United States Hydrogen Workshop 2026 is organized with the objective of sharing technical perspectives, connecting stakeholders with concrete cooperation needs, and supporting the formation of projects, initiatives, and collaboration models aligned with the conditions of Vietnam and the region.
