VAHC to Chair the Forum — Advancing Vietnam's Hydrogen Economy

The forum will be chaired by the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC), reflecting a commitment to strengthening international connectivity, promoting technology cooperation and developing Vietnam's hydrogen ecosystem.

As chair, VAHC positions the forum as a space for in-depth dialogue among experts, policymakers, research institutions, technology companies, project developers and the investment community in the fields of hydrogen and future energy.

The programme's focus goes beyond introducing new scientific and technological achievements to address practical issues in developing the hydrogen industry, including production costs, scalability, storage and transport infrastructure, industrial applications, market demand and access to investment capital.

VAHC's overarching direction is to drive the transition from hydrogen technology to a hydrogen economy, in which research, technology development, production, infrastructure, trade and investment are connected into a sustainably developing ecosystem.

Through the forum, VAHC seeks to expand cooperation with international organisations and businesses, helping Vietnam access advanced experience, technology and deployment models, while promoting technology transfer, supply chain development and the formation of commercially viable hydrogen projects.

The event also marks a continuation of the partnership between VAHC and FEEX 2027 to connect the hydrogen community with clean energy, smart technology and future energy infrastructure sectors.

Hydrogen — From Strategic Technology to a New Economy

As the world accelerates its energy transition and carbon emission reduction efforts, hydrogen is increasingly recognised as a promising solution for hard-to-abate industries, clean fuel production, energy storage and transportation.

However, hydrogen development still faces numerous challenges related to technology costs, infrastructure, market demand and investment efficiency. Moving from research and pilot projects to commercial-scale deployment requires coordination among many stakeholders across the value chain.

Building on these needs, the first part of the forum will focus on the theme "The Hydrogen Economy Towards 2030 – From Technology and Infrastructure to Commercialisation."

International experts will present and analyse key topics:

• Developing the hydrogen economy: from technology research to commercial-scale expansion.

• Green hydrogen: production technology, costs and scalability.

• Solutions for hydrogen production, storage, transport and infrastructure development.

• Hydrogen applications in industry and transportation.

• Green ammonia and hydrogen derivatives: opportunities to develop new industries.

A highlight of the presentations will be the combination of technology analysis with practical case studies, showcasing deployment experience and application models from international markets.

In particular, the first International Roundtable Dialogue, themed "From Hydrogen Technology to a Hydrogen Economy – What Does Vietnam Need to Realise Its 2030 Goals?", will focus on discussing the conditions needed to advance Vietnam's hydrogen industry.

The discussion will identify the opportunities and challenges in developing technology, building infrastructure, forming markets and mobilising resources, contributing practical perspectives for the hydrogen economy's development in the coming period.

Future Energy Technology — Driving the Transition to Smart, Sustainable Energy Systems

Alongside hydrogen, the energy transition requires the synchronised development of renewable energy technologies, storage systems, grid infrastructure and smart energy management solutions.

The second part of the forum, themed "Technologies Transforming the Future Energy System," will broaden the discussion to the technologies and solutions shaping the next generation of energy systems.

Presentations will focus on key areas:

• Integrating renewable energy and hydrogen: building an integrated clean energy ecosystem and

strengthening coordination among energy sources.

• Next-generation energy storage systems (BESS): battery storage technologies and their role in

enhancing power system flexibility.

• Smart grids and microgrids: applying energy management solutions to optimise operations and

integrate distributed power sources.

• Artificial intelligence and digital technology: applying AI, data analytics and digital

technologies to forecasting, coordination and energy system management.

• Emerging energy technologies: innovation trends and the transition from technology research to

practical application.

Through specific deployment cases, the programme aims to provide a comprehensive view of technology application potential while opening up cooperation opportunities between international solution providers and Vietnamese businesses.

Expanding the content from hydrogen to future energy technologies also reflects an integrated approach, in which hydrogen is considered in relation to the power system, renewable energy, storage infrastructure and digital transformation.

From Innovation to Investment — Bringing Global Energy Solutions to Vietnam

A key challenge for developing new energy technologies is the ability to translate advanced solutions into technically, commercially and financially viable projects.

As Vietnam accelerates its energy transition and energy infrastructure development, connecting international technology with the practical needs of the domestic market is significant for investment promotion and project development.

The third part of the forum is built around the theme "From Innovation to Investment – Turning Global Energy Technology into Investment Opportunities in Vietnam."

The highlight is the international presentation "Raising Capital for Hydrogen and Future Energy – From Technology to Bankable Projects," which focuses on the factors that help technology solutions move closer to deployment and access to financial resources.

This will be followed by the second International Roundtable Dialogue, themed "From Innovation to Investment – Bringing Global Energy Solutions to Vietnam."

The dialogue aims to connect technology developers, businesses, investors and other stakeholders to discuss cooperation opportunities, project development potential and the conditions needed to bring advanced energy solutions into the Vietnamese market.

Through these discussions, the forum hopes to help narrow the gap between innovation and commercial application, fostering practical opportunities for technology and investment cooperation.
