United Hydrogen and Hydrogen-Based Solutions for Healthcare Applications

United Hydrogen and Hydrogen-Based Solutions for Healthcare Applications

Presentation by Mr. Ianton Tan – APAC Director, United Hydrogen

The thematic roundtable “Applications of Hydrogen in Healthcare and Rehabilitation” was held at Hydrogen World Café at 2:00 PM on January 19, 2026, with the aim of creating an academic forum where scientists, physicians, researchers, businesses, and the community could share scientific foundations, practical experience, and emerging trends in the application of hydrogen in healthcare and rehabilitation. The program sought to bridge knowledge and practice and to promote sustainable and well-controlled hydrogen applications.

The event brought together many distinguished delegates and speakers in the fields of hydrogen and healthcare, including Mr. Le Ngoc Anh Minh, Chairman of the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC); Mr. Nguyen Anh Tam, Vice Chairman of VAHC; Dr. Cao Thuy Oanh, Head of R&D at VAHC; Dr. Tran Thanh Tam, Deputy Head of the Department of Scientific Research and External Relations at Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment; Mr. Nguyen Thieu Son, Founder of Hydrogen World; Dr. Nhu Duc Thang, Department of Rehabilitation, Central Psychiatric Hospital No. 2; Ms. Ho Thi Bich Phuong, representative of UNP Healthcare Vietnam; and Mr. Ianton Tan, APAC Director of United Hydrogen, who joined the program online. The roundtable also attracted a broad audience of experts and stakeholders interested in hydrogen.

The discussions focused on clarifying the scientific basis and potential of hydrogen in healthcare and rehabilitation, while also examining the role of hydrogen in energy systems, environmental protection, and sustainable development. Speakers shared insights into hydrogen applications in rehabilitation medicine, mental health support, and quality-of-life enhancement, as well as research activities, networking efforts, and strategic directions for developing the hydrogen ecosystem in Vietnam and the ASEAN region, together with international experience and global deployment trends.

In his online presentation, Mr. Ianton Tan, APAC Director of United Hydrogen, introduced the company’s development orientation and hydrogen-based solutions for health and physical care. He expressed his appreciation to VAHC for the invitation and his regret at not being able to attend the event in person in Vietnam.

Founded in 2018, United Hydrogen initially provided hydrogen solutions in China and has since expanded into various application fields. According to Mr. Tan, hydrogen should not be viewed solely as a fuel or energy carrier, but also as a very small molecule with significant potential to support human health.

He noted that modern society faces increasing challenges such as chronic stress, environmental pollution, UV exposure, and population aging, all of which heighten the need for physical and mental recovery. Free radicals in the body were described as “rust,” capable of attacking cells, damaging DNA, and accelerating the aging process. In this context, hydrogen is regarded by United Hydrogen as a promising supportive solution due to its selective antioxidant properties, targeting harmful free radicals such as hydroxyl radicals without disrupting essential physiological processes or leaving toxic by-products, as the end product is simply water.

Thanks to its extremely small molecular size, hydrogen can easily penetrate biological barriers, circulate through the bloodstream, enter cells, and help neutralize harmful free radicals, thereby contributing to overall health improvement. Based on this scientific foundation, Mr. Tan presented several specific solutions currently developed by United Hydrogen for healthcare and daily life.

Among the highlighted products is the L by H skincare line, which applies hydrogen mask technology to support skin hydration while helping reduce inflammation, irritation, and sensitivity, with the advantage of being gentle and minimizing side effects. United Hydrogen has also developed hydrogen-rich water solutions through its own manufacturing facilities, offering consumer products such as tea brewers, water purifiers, bottles, and bottled hydrogen water. The water is sourced from highland areas and features high hydrogen concentration, which is believed to support hydration, metabolic waste elimination, and potential health improvement when consumed regularly.

In addition, hydrogen is applied in oral care and physical recovery through devices such as hydrogen water flossers and hydrogen showers. Feedback and practical observations suggest that hydrogen-rich water used in daily routines may help soothe the skin and relax muscles, making it particularly suitable for physically active individuals. Mr. Tan also mentioned applications of hydrogen in agriculture and nutrition, where vegetables, fruits, and rice treated with hydrogen may have reduced heavy metal content, contributing to healthier diets and long-term well-being.

In closing, Mr. Ianton Tan emphasized United Hydrogen’s vision of building a comprehensive hydrogen ecosystem, from production to consumer applications, while highlighting community education on hydrogen as a key objective. He expressed a strong interest in receiving feedback from Vietnamese experts to further refine hydrogen products and solutions together with United Hydrogen’s technical and research teams, and to strengthen cooperation with VAHC and regional partners.

The program concluded with an open discussion session, allowing participants to engage directly with the speakers, ask questions, and share perspectives. Participants then experienced practical hydrogen applications at Hydrogen World Café, including hydrogen inhalation, hydrogen-rich water, and coffee prepared using hydrogen water. The roundtable not only enhanced awareness of hydrogen in healthcare but also generated strong expectations for community building, expanded research, and future collaborative and pilot hydrogen projects.

Following the roundtable, VAHC will collaborate with Central Psychiatric Hospital No. 2, under the leadership of Dr. Nhu Duc Thang, to implement a clinical hydrogen treatment pilot project.
