At 9 A.M on April 14, the traditional New Year festival of Myanma, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia was held at Pho Minh Pagoda.
The traditional New Year's celebration was held not only to honor the Bunpimay Festival in Laos, the Songkran Festival in Thailand, the Chol Chnam Thmay Festival in Cambodia, and the Thingyang Festival in Myanmar, but also to fortify ties between Vietnam and Myanma, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia.
The Deputy Consul General of Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia arrived on this occasion and participated in the fun. In addition, students who live and work in Ho Chi Minh City from Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia came to enjoy the festival as well.
The Festival features customary rituals like praying for peace and bathing Buddha while taking place in a somber but loving and peaceful atmosphere.
