Pacific Group and Hydrogen Vietnam ASEAN Club attended the discussion at the forum "Green Transformation, Green Finance towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050"
The forum co-organized by VCCI, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and JICA took place on the morning of April 11, 2024 at Sheraton Hanoi.
According to Mr. Fukuda Koji - Chief Advisor of the JICA SPI-NDC Project (Nationally Determined Contribution in Vietnam) of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in the world as well as in Vietnam , financial institutions are expanding their green portfolios and reducing greenhouse gas emissions across equity financing investments. Green investment projects are playing an important role in the sustainable development of the economy and businesses themselves.
This has become a necessary and sufficient condition for each business to improve its competitiveness and resilience; helps businesses meet the requirements of international economic integration. The integration process is paying more and more attention to environmental, social, and sustainable governance (ESG) issues."
Talking about the experience of implementing green energy projects, Mr. Le Ngoc Anh Minh - Chairman of Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club - Executive Chairman and founder of Pacific Group Co., Ltd. said: We are promoting a number of small-scale demonstration projects, off-grid decentralized systems. Vietnam so far does not have gas and LNG infrastructure like in the EU or Japan.
“In my opinion, the supply chain needs to be formed now from researching new technology, receiving technology and starting to produce equipment and components in Vietnam to reduce hydrogen plant investment costs. Of course, Vietnam has low labor and other costs, but the cost of imported equipment is very expensive. We have to think about that to reduce costs. When the cost is reasonable, we can mass produce for domestic use and export." - Mr. Le Ngoc Anh Minh shared.
