Chairman, Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC)
Ladies and Gentlemen, Distinguished Guests, and Partners from Korea,
Today marks a meaningful milestone in our shared journey toward a clean, secure, and sustainable energy future. I am deeply honored to join hands with the Korea Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Industry Association to formalize our cooperation through the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding.
The hydrogen economy is not just an aspiration — it is a critical pathway to net-zero emissions, green industry, and regional energy resilience. Through this MoU, we are building a strategic bridge between Vietnam and Korea — one that will support knowledge exchange, policy alignment, and the development of pilot projects in key areas such as transportation, electricity, and industrial decarbonization.
This partnership reflects our commitment to learning from Korea’s world-class hydrogen experience while also showcasing Vietnam’s growing role in ASEAN’s green energy transition. I look forward to dynamic collaboration between our working groups, and I am confident that together, we can unlock real-world impact for our citizens, businesses, and the environment.
Thank you to all the colleagues and institutions who made today possible. Let this be the first of many steps toward a brighter, hydrogen-powered future.
Speech by Dr. Yong-chae Kim
Vice Chairman, Korea Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Industry Association (KHFCIA)
Honorable Colleagues, Friends from Vietnam, and Esteemed Participants,
It is with great pride and optimism that I stand here today representing the Korea Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Industry Association as we enter a strategic partnership with the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club.
Korea has long recognized hydrogen as a cornerstone of our national energy and climate strategy. Through this MoU, we are excited to extend our collaboration to Vietnam and ASEAN, sharing insights, data, and experiences that can help both sides progress faster and more effectively in developing the hydrogen economy.
This is not just a symbolic gesture. It is a platform for real engagement — through joint working groups, policy dialogue, and collaborative projects — where we can bring together our industries, researchers, and policymakers to accelerate innovation and scale-up.
On behalf of KHFCIA, I would like to express sincere gratitude to our Vietnamese counterparts for their vision, hospitality, and partnership. We believe this MoU sets a solid foundation for long-term cooperation, and we are eager to move from ideas to action.
Together, let us build a hydrogen ecosystem that is not only technically sound but also regionally inclusive and globally significant.
This landmark MoU symbolizes the growing ties between Vietnam and Korea in their shared pursuit of sustainable energy solutions and a net-zero future.
