Launching ceremony of DAS Alliance, supporting businesses to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
On January 4, 2024, Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club and ASEAN Carbon Credit Exchange officially established the DAS Alliance, an alliance to support domestic and foreign businesses in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.
Attending the DAS Alliance Launching Ceremony, on the side of Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club, there were leaders and key members including Mr. Le Ngoc Anh Minh, Chairman of the Club, Mr. Taiyo Nagata, Vice Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tam, Vice President. Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Head of EPC Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thuc Uyen, Head of ESG Committee, Ms. Mai Thu Binh, Head of ESG Committee.
On the guests' side were representatives of Club and Exchange partners such as Sumitomo Forestry, Indonesian Consulate General of Economic Affairs in Ho Chi Minh City, SMBC Bank, Nam A Bank, Hokuriku Bank, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Obayashi Corporation, AEON, Vinataba, Forbes Vietnam, Pacific Group, Avison Young, Green Pacific Group, Icham, Ban Thach JSC, BP Logistics, Kenzen Consulting, Nippon Solar, Gentari (Petronas), Green Media and Press Club, leaders of CTGroup , Kido Group etc
The DAS Alliance will proceed
- Develop and implement projects - programs on 'Climate change response' and/or 'Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions'. Advise full-service corporate customers on solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and connect investments and implement component or package projects for customers.
This program includes exchange activities - promoting increased awareness and thinking of businesses/organizations on reducing greenhouse gas emissions within the framework of implementing green projects - sustainable projects on environmental protection. deal with climate change.
- Promote high-tech projects 'Carbon Capture and Storage' (CCS) in 'Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction' projects.
- Strategic and tactical cooperation with Enterprises/Corporations from Japan in local development plans: Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Ben Tre, Can Tho, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, etc.
- Promote renewable energy projects, green projects - sustainable projects in the Central coastal areas.
- Promote energy saving projects at businesses and localities
- Promoting waste recycling projects and converting waste into energy using advanced models such as producing hydrogen from waste
- Promote afforestation and forest management projects in localities
- Promote agricultural (farming) projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
- Promote projects using green bonds and green credits through strict monitoring of emission sources
After launching, DAS Alliance signed specific cooperation agreements with the following partners:
[1] Signed a cooperation agreement to popularize new generation, environmentally friendly solar panels for installation at production facilities, offices, and buildings with Japan's Nippon Solar Group.
[2] Signing a cooperation agreement to practically implement green building construction with Ban Thach Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company
[3] Signed a cooperation agreement to practically implement green logistics with BP Logistics Company
[4] Signed a cooperation agreement to implement energy saving projects with IBAS Technology Company
After its launch, DAS Alliance negotiated a package consulting contract with a number of large tobacco, supermarket and oil and gas corporations in Vietnam and Japan.
