July 5 to 13, 2023: Celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. Pacific Group and VAHC Club would like to invite partners to arrange exchanges in Ho Chi Minh City and Quy Nhon with Artist Hideshi Takatani, owner of the oldest temple in Japan, the 1700-year-old Shitennoji Temple (built in 593)
Hideshi Takatani was born in 1956 in Osaka, After moving to the US in 1985, he played with Larry Carlton and Duke Jordan. He founded Soul Mates with Masa Oye in 2002. They have toured Europe and America, and They have performed with Jean-Jacques Milteau and Paul Brown. They have been acclaimed in performances, “Festival of Japan” at the Sydney Opera House, “Fete de la Musique” sponsored by the French Embassy, “Jazz in Geidai” during the 120th Anniversary of the University. Tokyo Art, etc.
Takatani plays for “Daiginjyou” with Houzan Yamamoto, Living National Treasure of Japan. And he co-starred with David Matthews in “G2 New York Recordings”. In January 2010 in LA, he played the world's largest musical instrument NAMM. And he went to Australia to deliver Japanese culture tour in May, and named G2us will release “FURUSATO-mom place” in July.
The musical expression and beautiful and sophisticated approach have continued to appeal to American and European audiences, all over the world.
