Interview with Mr. Yo Inaishi, President & CEO of Suiso Japan Co., Ltd.
“Harnessing Hydrogen for People, Pets, and the Planet”
VAHC: Before the Vietnam–Japan Hydrogen Workshop 2025, we had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Yo Inaishi, President and CEO of Suiso Japan Co., Ltd., a pioneering company in hydrogen-based health, agriculture, and wellness technologies.
Mr. Yo Inaishi
Could you please introduce yourself and Suiso Japan Co., Ltd.? What inspired you to establish this company?
Yo Inaishi:
My name is Yo Inaishi, and I am the President and CEO of Suiso Japan Co., Ltd.
Our company designs, manufactures, and sells a wide range of hydrogen-related equipment — from hydrogen inhalation devices and hydrogen baths to hydrogen water generators for agriculture and aquaculture.
Six years ago, I suffered a severe case of dengue fever that brought me close to death. That experience made me deeply aware of the importance of immunity, health, and preventive care — and it led me to discover hydrogen’s remarkable potential. That was the starting point for founding Suiso Japan.

What major achievements has Suiso Japan accomplished so far in Japan?
Yo Inaishi:
Over the years, we’ve achieved significant progress in healthcare, agriculture, and wellness.
Healthcare and Medical Applications
Our hydrogen inhalation systems — the Suilive SS-300+, SS-600+, and medical-grade SS-700M — are now used in around 120–150 medical institutions and have more than 2,000 active units in 22 countries (as of September 2025).
In 2025, Juntendo University School of Medicine published a groundbreaking study in Molecular Medicine Reports titled “Regulation of nuclear transport of the transcriptional factor REST improves axon regeneration in peripheral nerves.”
The study used Suiso Japan’s hydrogen inhalation device and confirmed that hydrogen promotes nerve regeneration by regulating REST-related pathways — offering clear scientific validation of hydrogen’s physiological effects.
Today, many Japanese physicians in preventive medicine, sports medicine, and rehabilitation use our systems to help patients reduce oxidative stress, fatigue, and inflammation.
Agriculture and Crop Growth Enhancement
Our Suilive S-1 hydrogen agriculture system applies hydrogen-enriched water to crops. In rice cultivation trials, hydrogen-treated rice grew about 5% larger, with more luster and transparency compared to rice grown with regular water. These results suggest that hydrogen can enhance plant vitality, reduce fertilizer dependence, and support sustainable agriculture.
How is hydrogen therapy perceived in Japan today?
Yo Inaishi:
Globally, hydrogen therapy is still at an early stage. But in Japan, awareness has expanded rapidly. Clinical studies and medical evidence have convinced many healthcare professionals that hydrogen inhalation is a safe and effective supportive therapy that helps reduce oxidative stress and promote cellular recovery.
Hydrogen spas and clinics have become increasingly common across major cities, bridging medical treatment and preventive healthcare. We hope Japan’s progress can inspire global adoption of hydrogen-based wellness.
Does the Japanese government provide support for hydrogen use in healthcare?
Yo Inaishi:
At present, Japan’s hydrogen policy focuses mainly on energy and decarbonization, not yet on healthcare. There are no official subsidies for medical hydrogen use.
However, in agriculture and environmental fields, there are supportive programs — under which our hydrogen-agriculture initiatives have flourished.
We aim to continue building solid scientific and clinical evidence so that, in the near future, hydrogen can be formally recognized within Japan’s healthcare policy framework.
What is Suiso Japan’s business direction and strategy for the ASEAN region, especially Vietnam?
Yo Inaishi:
We are committed to maintaining 100% Japanese manufacturing for our core products to ensure safety and quality under ISO 13485 certification.
At the same time, we recognize Vietnam and ASEAN as key strategic regions. The International Energy Agency (IEA) has named Vietnam a “Rising Star” in the global hydrogen economy for 2025.
Therefore, we plan to strengthen cooperation through:

Establishing assembly and service centers for better access

Joint education programs to train hydrogen healthcare specialists
Our goal is not only to sell products but to build a sustainable hydrogen healthcare ecosystem based on knowledge, service, and long-term trust.

What are your expectations for Vietnam–Japan cooperation in this field?
Yo Inaishi:
The upgrade of Vietnam–Japan relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership marks a new chapter of mutual trust. I believe hydrogen-based healthcare can become a key pillar of our cooperation.
Suiso Japan and the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) share the same vision — to raise awareness about hydrogen’s health and wellness benefits. Together, we hope to launch joint pilot programs, clinical research, and education projects to help both doctors and policymakers understand hydrogen’s potential in preventive healthcare.
By combining Japan’s advanced technology with Vietnam’s dynamic innovation spirit, we can create a new model of medical progress and environmental harmony that symbolizes the friendship between our two nations.
Japanese national football team players such as Hidemasa Morita, Ayase Ueda and Kodai Takai have also started using Suilive to manage their daily health conditions and improve their health. With the FIFA World Cup scheduled to take place in June 2026 approaching, the product is attracting attention as an important "physical care" support tool to get through the tough season.

2025年ベトナム・日本水素ワークショップを前に、医療・農業・ウェルネス分野で革新的な水素技術を展開する 株式会社スイソジャパン の代表取締役社長 稲石洋（いないし よう）氏 にお話を伺いました。
自己紹介と、会社設立のきっかけを教えてください。
稲石洋：
私は株式会社スイソジャパンの代表取締役社長、稲石洋です。
当社は、水素吸入器、水素バス、ペット用水素吸入器、農業・養殖用水素水生成装置など、幅広い水素関連機器の設計・製造・販売を行っています。
6年前、私はデング熱に感染し、生死の境をさまよいました。その経験から、免疫・健康・予防医療の重要性を痛感し、水素の可能性に出会ったのです。これがスイソジャパン設立の原点となりました。
当社は以下の3つの理念を大切にしています。

これまで日本国内でどのような成果を上げてきましたか。
稲石洋：
医療、農業、ウェルネスの分野で多くの成果を収めてきました。
医療分野
当社の水素吸入システム Suilive SS-300+、SS-600+、医療用SS-700M は、現在約120〜150の医療機関で導入され、22か国で2,000台以上が稼働しています（2025年9月時点）。
2025年には順天堂大学医学部が国際誌 Molecular Medicine Reports に「REST転写因子の核内輸送制御による末梢神経軸索再生の改善」という論文を発表しました。この研究で当社の装置が使用され、水素が神経再生を促進することが科学的に確認されました。
現在では予防医学、スポーツ医学、リハビリテーションの分野で多くの医師が、水素吸入を酸化ストレス、疲労、炎症軽減のサポート手段として導入しています。
農業分野
Suilive S-1 水素農業システムでは、水素を含む水を作物に供給します。実験では、水素水で育てた稲が通常より約5％大きく、透明度やつやも高い結果となりました。
この成果は、水素が肥料使用の削減や土壌バランスの改善など、持続可能な農業の推進に寄与できることを示しています。
日本での水素医療への認識はどのように変化していますか。
稲石洋：
世界的にはまだ初期段階ですが、日本では臨床研究や実際の成果により、水素吸入が安全で効果的な補助療法として広く認識されるようになっています。
最近では主要都市に水素スパやクリニックが増え、医療と予防ケアをつなぐ新しい形が定着しつつあります。日本の成功が世界へのモデルになると信じています。
政府による支援制度はありますか。
稲石洋：
現時点で日本政府の水素戦略は主にエネルギー・脱炭素化に焦点を当てており、医療分野に対する助成はまだありません。
ただし、農業・環境分野では支援制度があり、当社の水素農業事業はその枠組みの中で発展しています。
今後は医療・ウェルネス分野における科学的・臨床的根拠をさらに積み上げ、政策的な認知拡大を目指していきます。
今後の事業戦略、特にベトナム・ASEAN地域への展開についてお聞かせください。
稲石洋：
当社はコア製品の100％日本国内製造を堅持し、ISO 13485に基づく最高水準の安全性と品質を保証しています。
一方で、ベトナムおよびASEAN地域を重要な戦略拠点と位置づけています。**国際エネルギー機関（IEA）**がベトナムを「水素経済の新星」と評価したこともあり、今後は以下の取り組みを強化します。

稲石洋：
両国関係が包括的戦略的パートナーシップへと格上げされたことは、新たな信頼と協力の時代を象徴しています。
私は、水素医療分野が両国協力の重要な柱になると確信しています。
スイソジャパンと**ベトナムASEAN水素クラブ（VAHC）**は「水素による健康とウェルネスの向上」という同じ理念を共有しています。共同実証、臨床研究、教育活動を通じて、医師や政策立案者に水素の可能性を理解していただきたいと考えています。
日本の技術力とベトナムの革新力を融合させることで、両国の友好を象徴する医療革新と環境調和のモデルを創り出せると信じています。

水素は単なるエネルギーではなく、「生命の元素」です。
