Interview Mr. Hidetaka Aoki, Founder of Space Port Japan about hydrogen and space port development
Pacific Group together with Japanese partners are executing land survey and pre F/S study about space port establishment in Vietnam. So far, the survey team has done survey on 2 land sites in Da Teh, Lam Dong and Ninh Thuan province. Both sites are not suitable yet and the team is going to do more surveys at sites in Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Baria Vuntau, Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan.
During this time, the team interview Mr. Hidetaka Aoki, Founder of Space Port Japan, a space port association in Japan. Mr. Aoki has experiences working in NASA, JAXA and space industries companies. He founded Space Port Japan, a Japanese hub to gather talents and resources of space industries and space port industries in Asia.
[1] Does green hydrogen and other bio fuel will play a major role in developing space rockets?
Green hydrogen and other bio fuel are still small portion of space industry. Kerosene (or Methane) and Liquid Oxygen are widely used fuel for rockets now.
[2] Many countries have net-zero goal by 2050, 2060 or earlier but the launching of rockets really destroys the environment on on earth, clean fuel for rocket will play a big role, do you think?
With the fuel mentioned above, CO2 emitted form rocket are negligible if compared with aviation or other transportation systems.
[3] with big data and telecom growing, land, sea and forest management need more satellites in space. Nations and corporations wait to have their satellites launched to space, do you think space ports in Asia will help reduce gaps between demand and supply in coming decades.
Yes. we need more remote sensing satellites to monitor the environment of the Earth and we could launch more small satellites from Asia.
