Fukushima Prefecture Business Delegation Visits Ho Chi Minh City: Innovation Emerging from Disaster
Ho Chi Minh City, January 14, 2026

As part of a business promotion and technology cooperation mission, a business delegation from Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, held working sessions with partners in Ho Chi Minh City, introducing innovative technologies developed from their experience in responding to major disasters.
During the visit, the delegation presented two representative companies that embody Fukushima’s post-disaster innovation-driven recovery.
The first company, Tao Engineering, introduced its biomass-derived hydrogen production and power generation technology, utilizing plant- and animal-based biomass resources. The system enables hydrogen production and electricity generation with near-zero CO₂ emissions during operation, offering a sustainable and decentralized energy solution suitable for disaster-prone regions and areas with limited infrastructure.
The second company, Moegi, showcased its circular clean water solutions designed for disaster response and emergency situations. Moegi’s technology allows water to be purified, recycled, and reused, and is packaged in portable suitcase-style units or backpack systems, enabling rapid deployment in disaster zones, construction sites, humanitarian missions, and outdoor applications.
Fukushima Prefecture was once the site of one of the world’s most complex compound disasters. In the years since, local companies have transformed adversity into innovation, developing technologies that support daily life, energy security, water safety, and disaster resilience.
The visit to Ho Chi Minh City reflects Fukushima companies’ commitment to expanding international cooperation, sharing post-disaster recovery expertise, and contributing practical technological solutions to global sustainable development efforts.
