FIRST STAGE OF THE HIGH-TECH INSPECTION TOUR CHINA-VIETNAM TO SHENZHEN

THE FIRST STAGE OF THE VIETNAM-CHINA HIGH-TECH STUDY TRIP TO SHENZHEN

Learning from the Model: Why Choose Shenzhen, China?

Shenzhen is located in the south of Guangdong Province, China, covering an area of 1,997 km² with a resident population of 17.68 million. It is the city with the highest intellectual level in China and a symbol of reform and opening-up. As a frontline of China's reform, Shenzhen has an average population age of only 33, making it the youngest city in China.

Shenzhen is home to 3.94 million business entities, 535 listed companies domestically and internationally, 10 Fortune 500 companies, and 18,600 national high-tech enterprises. Over the past decades, Shenzhen has experienced rapid economic growth, especially in high-tech. It is China's technology innovation hub and has become a globally significant center of technological innovation.

Shenzhen has witnessed the rise of major corporations, from giants like Ping An, Vanke, ZTE, Huawei, and Overseas Chinese Town, to global leaders such as Tencent, BYD, DJI, and Han's Laser. New faces such as Mindray Medical, Skyworth, TCL, and Luxshare Precision have also emerged, overcoming challenging technological barriers and creating proprietary breakthroughs.

This technology sector study program includes on-site visits to high-tech companies with significant influence in China, particularly in Shenzhen. We aim to foster precise connections, discuss collaboration opportunities, engage in direct dialogues with company management to expand our vision and enhance our capabilities, explore leading research and innovation in technology labs, and uncover future trends and investment opportunities in the high-tech sector.

LEARNING FROM ADVANCED ACHIEVEMENTS: WHY CHOOSE THE CHINA HI-TECH FAIR ?

The China Hi-Tech Fair, approved by the State Council, is China's premier event for exhibiting and trading high-tech achievements. This exhibition is co-hosted by multiple government ministries, research institutes, and the Shenzhen Municipal Government, and organized by the China International Hi-Tech Achievement Trading Center in Shenzhen. The exhibition was first held in 1999 and takes place annually in November in Shenzhen.

The 26th China Hi-Tech Fair, hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal Government, will be held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao’an) from November 14 to 16, 2024, covering approximately 400,000 m². More than 5,000 well-known companies and international organizations from over 100 countries and regions will participate.

The China Hi-Tech Fair is the largest and most influential tech exhibition in China. It comprises six main parts: "High-tech Achievement Transactions, Specialized High-tech Product Exhibitions, Forums, Super-topic Events, High-tech Talent and Intelligence Exchange Conferences, and Continuous Transaction Exhibits." It integrates achievement transactions, product exhibitions, high-level forums, project investment, and collaboration exchanges, providing a convenient channel for domestic and international clients to seek projects, technologies, products, markets, capital, and talent.

The fair has garnered significant recognition and warm reception from global high-tech enterprises, attracting over 50 countries for exhibitions, transactions, and negotiations each year. Notable participants include nearly 30 countries and international organizations like the US, UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, Italy, Russia, and the EU, as well as over 40 prominent multinational corporations such as Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Siemens, British Telecom, Ericsson, Philips, SAP, Sony, and Samsung. Over 400 distinguished speakers from global commercial, political, and academic fields, including Nobel laureates, ministerial-level officials, and CEOs, have delivered speeches at the fair’s forums. Each fair attracts over 500,000 visitors, with product and technology transactions exceeding USD 13 billion.

With characteristics of "national-level, international reach, high standards, large scale, practicality, professionalism, and continuous operation," the China Hi-Tech Fair has become a significant gateway for China to open its high-tech sector to the world. It plays an increasingly vital role in promoting the commercialization, industrialization, and internationalization of high-tech achievements, while facilitating economic and technical exchange and cooperation among countries and regions.
