As Southeast Asia faces the dual pressure of rapid economic growth and the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, regional platforms are playing an increasingly important role in fostering collaboration on policy, technology, and investment.

In 2026, a major series of energy transition and decarbonization events will be held in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together three flagship forums: the 10th Waste Management & Waste to Energy Asia Summit 2026 – Vietnam Focus; the 10th Biomass Bioenergy & Biofuels SAF Asia Summit 2026 – Vietnam Focus; and the LNG & Gas Power Asia Summit 2026 – Vietnam Focus. Taking place on March 25–26, 2026 in Holiday Inn & Suite Saigon Airport, Ho Chi Minh City, these events will focus on key pillars of the energy transition, including waste management, bioenergy, sustainable aviation fuels, and gas-to-power solutions.

On this occasion, Mr. Donnie Wu, representative of INBC Global, the event organizer, shared valuable insights.

Annie Nguyễn: Could you introduce your organization and the vision behind this event series?
Our organization was established in 2011 and operates in the fields of conference organization and market research related to energy and environmental sectors. Our mission is to connect international companies with Southeast Asian markets, facilitating investment flows and technology transfer in areas such as waste management, bioenergy, natural gas, and distributed energy.

Annie Nguyễn: Why has Vietnam been selected as the key focus market in 2026?
Vietnam is one of the fastest-growing economies in the region, with increasing demand for clean energy and environmental solutions. The government is actively promoting sustainable development and energy transition policies, creating favorable conditions to attract international investment.

Annie Nguyễn: How do you assess the potential of countries across the region?
Indonesia benefits from its large population but still faces policy-related risks. Malaysia shows stable development but has a smaller market size. Vietnam stands out due to its rapid growth, clear policy direction, and strong institutional support, along with the bridging role of the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club in connecting stakeholders.

Annie Nguyễn: What are your key expectations for the 2026 forums?
We expect not only to attract investment but also to introduce advanced technologies into Vietnam, particularly in waste management, bioenergy, and industrial decarbonization.

Annie Nguyễn: What long-term impacts do you anticipate from these forums?
These platforms can contribute to policy development, technical standardization, and expanded international cooperation. At the same time, sharing successful case studies can help raise public awareness, improve environmental quality, and promote sustainable economic growth.
