The concise discussion session on sustainable development focused on developing sustainable clean water sources and appropriate policy mechanisms for clean water investors in Vietnam. Representatives of Eurocham's Green Development subcommittee and speakers from the Italian Embassy, Circular Economy Development Research Institute, Pacific Group, Idro Group shared views on clean water investment in Vietnam, purchasing price mechanism selling clean water in the North Central and South regions. The role of clean energy in developing water resources and vice versa, the role of water resources in the process of converting traditional energy to clean energy, especially to produce green hydrogen. A representative from Pacific Group expressed his opinion on investing in clean water sources: domestic investors are making a profit, but foreign investors often wonder about the price mechanism. There needs to be close coordination and close cooperation between foreign and domestic investors to ensure appropriate water prices for consumers and investors are profitable. The Prime Minister has mentioned the same mechanism many times about the energy industry: first, investors must consider reasonable prices to suit the Vietnamese people for sustainability to be high! Pacific Group representative also shared more about Pacific Group's business development orientation in the Mekong Delta Region, forecasting that in the next 10 years (after 2030), the Mekong Delta will become the most prosperous region in Vietnam because the Government prioritizes develop the region's transport infrastructure.
