CALL FOR INVESTORS, INVESTMENT FUNDS AND DEVELOPERS – 100MW GREEN HYDROGEN / GREEN AMMONIA PROJECT IN VIETNAM
June 8, 2026
The Vietnam – ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) is pleased to introduce a major green hydrogen investment opportunity proposed by a project developer partner in Vietnam.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
-
Project name: Green hydrogen / green ammonia production infrastructure (100MW phase 1, scalable to 300MW)
-
Proposed locations: Trà Vinh, Quảng Ngãi or Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu
-
Current stage: Pre-FID (project preparation; Owner's Engineer selection ongoing; land MoU and offtake HoT under discussion)
-
Pre-FID budget: USD 19 – 24 million
-
Construction CAPEX (Phase 1): USD 300 – 500 million
-
Target FID: 2028 – 2029
-
First green ammonia production: 2031 – 2032
INVESTMENT AND PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
The project developer is actively seeking:
-
Equity investment (USD 5 – 10 million) for pre-FID development (feasibility studies, ESIA, financial structuring, Owner's Engineer fees).
-
Grant support or technical assistance from programmes such as the UK A2D Facility, Japan's JCM, or bilateral technical cooperation.
-
Strategic partners including technology suppliers (especially Japanese firms for JCM), EPC contractors, and long-term offtakers.
CLIMATE BENEFITS
The project will replace grey ammonia (approx. 2.0 – 3.0 kg CO₂/kg NH₃) with green ammonia (< 0.5 kg CO₂/kg NH₃ by Phase 3), avoiding hundreds of thousands of tonnes of CO₂e annually.
ALIGNMENT WITH VAHC MISSION
-
The project meets VAHC's investment arrangement threshold (> USD 25 million).
-
It supports VAHC's goal of positioning Vietnam as a regional hydrogen hub.
-
Ready to connect with VAHC's network of international partners and financiers.
VAHC invites investment funds, strategic investors and project developers to contact the VAHC Secretariat for introductions and detailed project information.
