Birmingham hosts 2024 Hydrogen UK Annual Conference and Awards next week
Birmingham’s National Conference Centre (NCC) will host the Hydrogen UK Annual Conference and Awards on March 11-12, 2024, with almost 500 delegates set to attend.
The evening of March 11 will host an awards ceremony, celebrating companies, individuals and projects across the industry.
Awards for Infrastructure Project, Innovation Project, Hydrogen for Transport, Future Leader, Industrial Application and Green Project are all up for grabs.
March 12 will see a full day of conferencing and exhibiting. Sessions will cover international trade, skills and jobs, transport and public engagement.
Speakers include Allan Rushforth, Chief Commercial Officer at First Hydrogen; Caroline Stancell, Executive Director, Hydrogen Mobility at Air Products; Catherine Raw, Managing Director of SSE Thermal; Joe Seifert, CEO of EET Hydrogen; and more.
Commenting on the event, Clare Jackson, CEO of Hydrogen UK, previously, said, “We look forward to hearing from industry stakeholders about the exciting developments and the challenges they face as we progress to the next phase of building the UK’s hydrogen economy.”
The event comes at a crucial time for the UK hydrogen sector, which at the tail-end of 2023 and start of 2024 has seen further support from the government.
In December (2023), the government selected 11 green hydrogen projects, totalling 125MW of capacity, for a combined £2bn of revenue support.
This was followed last month (February 2024) by £21m ($26.6m) of funding for seven low-carbon hydrogen projects for transportation and industrial uses, expected to boost the nation’s production capacity by 800MW.
