– Greetings, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Quyền. It is known that the 7th International Conference on Science and Technology (ICST-7) will officially take place on November 14, 2025, at HCMUNRE. Could you please share what is new or different about this year’s conference compared to previous editions?

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Quyền: The 7th International Conference on Science and Technology in 2025 is a special event marking an important milestone in HCMUNRE’s efforts to promote scientific research and international cooperation. The biggest difference this year lies in the conference theme: “Resources, Environment, and Agriculture in the Digital Era and Sustainable Development.”

We focus on connecting breakthrough technologies – such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Transformation, and Geospatial technologies – with sustainable development strategies, including Circular Economy and Green Growth. This is not only an academic exchange forum but also a platform to affirm the role of science and technology in addressing global challenges.

– This year’s theme is very timely. Which urgent issues will the conference focus on addressing through its discussion sessions?

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Quyền: The conference is designed to address global issues that directly impact national sustainable development. Discussion sessions will focus on the application of AI and Digital Transformation in resource management, climate change adaptation strategies, as well as Green Economy – Circular Economy models.

With eight specialized subcommittees, ICST-7 creates a multidisciplinary forum where scientists from home and abroad can share knowledge, discuss, and develop practical action pathways for sustainable development in the digital era.

– The eight subcommittees are very diverse. Could you elaborate on the role of HCMUNRE in hosting an international-scale event like this?

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Quyền: HCMUNRE’s continuous organization and successful hosting of ICST conferences – now in its 7th edition – is not only a regular academic duty but also a testament to the university’s reputation and pioneering position in the fields of resources, environment, and sustainable development. Through each conference, HCMUNRE gradually affirms its capacity for research, technology transfer, and international cooperation. We are committed to providing a high-quality academic forum where global knowledge is connected, shared, and disseminated for the common goal of sustainable development.

– In your opinion, what values will scientists and students gain by attending the conference?

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Quyền: The greatest value is the opportunity to access advanced knowledge and expand international cooperation networks.

Researchers will present their findings, directly interact with leading experts, and update the latest technological trends in relevant fields.

Especially for young scientists and students, this is a valuable opportunity to gain experience and broaden perspectives in an international academic environment.

– Finally, what message does the Organizing Committee wish to convey to the international scientific community through this conference?

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Quyền: HCMUNRE’s message is clear: sustainable development cannot be separated from digital technologies. We call on the international scientific community to join hands in utilizing the power of science and technology to protect resources and the environment, and to build a prosperous – green – and sustainable future for all countries.
