ASEAN’s Premier Energy Summit, Enlit Asia Returns to Malaysia with PETRA as Supporting Ministry and TNB as Official Utility Partner
The return of the only end-to-end power and energy mega event on 8-10 October will invite an estimated 12,000 attendees from over 50 countries in MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.
Kuala Lumpur, 30 September 2024 – The only end-to-end power and energy summit in ASEAN, Enlit Asia, is set to make its highly anticipated return to Kuala Lumpur for its 2024 edition, in collaboration with Malaysia’s Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), Ministry of Science, Energy and Innovation (MOSTI), and leading utility, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).
The annual conference, which unifies two major events in the power and energy sector, POWERGEN Asia and Asian Utility Week, will see the gathering of the region’s top industry experts and players at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from 8th to 10th October 2024.
Guided by its theme of "Enabling a Multidimensional Energy Transition in ASEAN," Enlit Asia draws inspiration from Malaysia's National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), with an agenda that aims to foster greater collaborations across industries and borders, tailored to the region's unique energy landscape. To be present at the event is Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), who will be delivering his ministerial opening remarks.
Building on the momentum from last year's successful event in Jakarta, Enlit Asia is bringing its circuit of energy discussions to Kuala Lumpur, back where it all began with its first edition in 2019.

This year, the conference is engaging key stakeholders, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) and Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (SEDA), as its supporting agencies, Sarawak Energy as its Malaysian partner, and CGN Edra as its Energy partner. With an estimated attendees of over 12,000 from more than 50 countries, including about 3,000 utilities and independent power producers (IPP), the forum expects to generate an estimated economic impact of RM134.6 million and RM8.2 million in visitor expenditure.
Simon Hoare, Portfolio Director of Energy at Enlit Asia, emphasized Malaysia's strategic importance, noting, "As a Southeast Asian economic powerhouse that is not only second in regional business maturity, but also has a strong 28 percent make-up of energy-intensive industries within its GDP, Malaysia has built a solid foundation as a trailblazer in the clean and renewable energy sector. It presents the perfect grounds for industry advancement, bringing global energy insights into the market and amplifying local knowledge beyond borders. I am certain that our return to the country this year will either inform, enhance, or amplify efforts on ASEAN’s energy progress, while simultaneously bringing Malaysia closer to its goals.”
The three-day conference will feature over 400 influential speakers and 350 exhibitors across the region’s energy sector, bringing together a lineup of prominent figures and credible experts across ASEAN and Malaysia’s energy industry. This includes Beni Suryadi, Deputy Executive Director, ASEAN Centre of Energy; Akhirio Ondo, CEO and Managing Director of Mitsubishi Power Asia Pacific; Dato’ Ir. Ts. Abdul Razib bin Dawood, CEO of Energy Commission Malaysia; Datuk Haji Sharbini Suhaili, Group CEO of Sarawak Energy; Mohd Zarihi Bin Mohd Hashim, Chief New Energy Officer (CNEO) of TNB, and Hasmarizal Bin Hassan, Chief Grid Officer (CGO) of TNB, which is also Enlit’s official utility partner.
Attendees of Enlit Asia 2024 can expect to immerse themselves in a dynamic blend of activities, from high-level strategy summits to easily accessible technical content and interactive exhibitions on the exhibition floor, powered by Mitsubishi Power, Trilliant Networks, GE Vernova, Black & Veatch, G&W Electric, S&P Global Commodity Insights, Wärtsilä, Shell, and Oracle. Highlighting crucial topics like the energy transformation, renewables, power generation, energy storage, hydrogen, and ammonia, among others, the conference offers a holistic, 360-degree perspective of the industry, encompassing source to generation and grid to consumer.
